Maintenance General Manager – Oil & Gas Mega Project


Summary
We’re seeking an experienced Maintenance General Manager to lead and direct maintenance operations on a major oil and gas project in Egypt. This position suits a senior engineering professional with extensive refinery experience and strong leadership abilities who is ready to take responsibility for managing multi-disciplinary maintenance teams on a large-scale project.

Our client is a leading organisation operating within the oil and gas sector, delivering critical integrated solutions for mega projects while maintaining a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and innovation.


Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage departments including Static Maintenance, Rotating Maintenance, Workshops, Instrumentation, Electrical, Electrical Substations, Asset Integrity, and Maintenance Planning.
  • Provide strategic direction and day-to-day leadership for high-performing teams.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts and major turnaround projects to maintain operational continuity.
  • Develop and implement effective maintenance strategies, ensuring asset integrity and compliance.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence across all functions.
  • Coordinate closely with stakeholders to meet operational and organisational targets.

Must-have Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • At least 25 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • A minimum of 5 years in a senior maintenance management role on a mega project (integrated refinery experience preferred).
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead diverse teams.
  • Significant experience in troubleshooting and managing major turnarounds on critical assets.

  • Strong problem-solving capabilities with creative and proactive thinking.
  • Proven ability to mentor and develop local teams, fostering growth and knowledge transfer.
