Summary

Join an exciting opportunity supporting a major carbon capture project in Hartlepool. We are looking for an experienced Material Co-ordinator to manage material handling operations on site, ensuring all logistical processes are executed safely and efficiently. This contract position is ideal for specialists with significant experience in materials coordination who are available for an immediate start.



Location and Working Pattern

Hartlepool (Teesside), full-time, contractor role (2–3 months)



Client Overview

Our client is involved in the BP NEP / NZT carbon capture project, supporting a key initiative for reducing emissions and promoting sustainable energy solutions.


Responsibilities

  • Check and manifest container contents, raising Dangerous Goods notes as required
  • Ensure containers are loaded and contents secured correctly
  • Oversee quayside operations, including vessel loading and discharging
  • Liaise with project personnel and vessels to manage port calls and ensure timely dispatch of materials
  • Ensure customs procedures are accurately followed for all imports and exports

 



Must-have Requirements

  • Minimum 6 years’ experience as a Materials Co-ordinator overseeing material handling operations on site
  • Strong knowledge of quayside operations and customs procedures
  • Proven ability to manage port logistics and vessel coordination
  • Ability to ensure compliance with dangerous goods handling requirements

 



Nice-to-have Skills

  • Previous experience with carbon capture or similar large-scale energy projects
  • Knowledge of environmental and safety compliance within logistics settings
  • Familiarity with ERP or material tracking systems
