Production Engineer to help shape our future.
The Production Engineer will report to the Engineering and Technical Manager and will oversee the manufacturing processes and engineering requirements at a project level, ensuring that quality of work is carried out efficiently and in a safe manner.
The Production Engineer will collaborate with other engineers and the production supervisors to maintain the standard of operation times and controls.
The Production Engineer will be responsible for tooling and process controls, improving OEE, quality, utilisation, and effective hours. They will also be responsible for safety, working on process and product handling to promote and ensure a positive safety culture within the workforce.
Additionally, the Production Engineer will provide commercial support in tendering and bids.
Job Duties What You’ll Do on a Day-to-Day Basis- Plan and coordinate production engineering processes to ensure high-quality products are produced.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of manufacturing processes and procedures.
- Develop and maintain process improvements to effectively utilise equipment and materials, maximising production.
- Diagnose problems within the production line, identify root causes, and deliver resolutions.
- Provide engineering support for production and maintenance activities.
- Evaluate current production activities and make recommendations for improvements.
- Stay current with product specifications, engineering technology, and production processes.
- Support the tender process for equipment to ensure the best quality for the best price.
- Undertake specialist projects as required.
- Conduct benchmarking studies to determine best practices, designs, and future trends.
- Write reports and present progress at project meetings to clients.
- Ensure products meet customer requirements, quality standards, and external stakeholder expectations.
- Produce written reports and make presentations.
- Undertake continuous training and development.
- Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems.
- Comply with all Health & Safety rules and standards.
- Manage quality systems (ISO 9001:2015).
What We Need from You- Relevant manufacturing or engineering degree (Master’s preferred).
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Proven experience in an engineering field.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Engineering qualifications/certifications (e.g. A Levels, ONC, City & Guilds Level 3, BTEC National Diploma Level 3, IVQ Technical Diploma, or equivalent NVQ Level 3).
- Professional accreditation with an industry-related body (advantageous).
- Experience within monopile or wind turbine industries (advantageous).
- Experience in manufacturing companies.
- CAD knowledge.
- Strategic and creative thinker with a positive, hands-on attitude.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with external parties.
