Purchasing Assistant
Summary
We’re looking for a detail-oriented Purchasing Assistant to join our Heysham team. This role is ideal for someone highly organised, with great communication skills and a strong focus on accuracy and customer service. You’ll help us maintain excellent relationships with clients and suppliers while supporting vital purchasing processes.

Location and Working Pattern
Heysham – full-time, office-based.
Responsibilities
· Receive and process orders, ensuring all costings are accurate and required documentation is provided.
· Liaise with clients and suppliers to resolve queries and maintain clear communication.
· Chase deliveries with couriers and suppliers to ensure timely fulfilment.
· Arrange and process supplier payments using banking and credit card methods.
· Reconcile credit card transactions and update purchasing systems accurately.
· Manage logistics, including booking flights, hotels, and car hire for UK and international travel.
· Prioritise and organise workload across multiple mailboxes, working to strict deadlines.
· Provide logistical support for internal and external stakeholders.
Must-have Requirements
· Competent in Microsoft Word and Excel.
· Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
· Team player with a proactive “can-do” attitude.
· Ability to prioritise tasks and maintain accuracy under pressure.
· Good communication skills, including phone, email and Teams.
Nice-to-have Skills
· Previous experience in a multi-functional office environment.
· Willingness to learn new systems to uphold high service standards.
