We’re looking for an experienced Senior Civil, Structural & Architectural (CS&A) Engineer to support nuclear decommissioning projects in Warrington. This role is ideal for engineers with proven structural engineering experience on regulated or complex projects. It’s a hybrid contract position (3 days in the office) with the opportunity to work on critical infrastructure projects that demand technical excellence and compliance.

  • Based in Warrington
  • Hybrid working: 3 days in the office, remainder remote
  • Contract role: Initial 12 months
Client Overview
Our client operates within the nuclear sector, delivering essential engineering support to complex decommissioning projects. They are committed to safety, technical integrity, and sustainable delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver structural engineering design and analysis within allocated project scope
  • Apply engineering judgement to produce safe, compliant civil and structural solutions
  • Check, verify, and approve structural engineering deliverables in line with governance standards
  • Undertake structural assessments, analysis, and verification of new and existing structures
  • Apply relevant codes and standards, including Eurocodes and British Standards
  • Support technical assurance, design reviews, and independent checking processes
  • Identify and manage technical risks, assumptions, and constraints
  • Collaborate within multi-disciplinary teams and interface with other engineering disciplines
Must-have Requirements
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Demonstrable structural engineering design experience in a regulated or complex environment
  • Experience developing and checking deliverables to applicable standards and specifications
  • Knowledge of Eurocodes, British Standards, and nuclear or safety-critical engineering practices
  • Ability to conduct structural integrity assessment, load path analysis, and serviceability checks
  • Understanding of governance, risk management, and technical assurance processes
  • Eligible for required security clearance and site access
Nice-to-have Skills
  • Experience within nuclear or other safety-critical environments
  • Familiarity with ageing infrastructure assessment and modification works
  • Experience supporting safety case development through structural substantiation
  • Exposure to multiple engineering lifecycle stages (concept to construction support)
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards
  • Knowledge of Sellafield governance and gated processes
