NRL are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Accountant to work for one of our leading clients. This role can be based in either Bristol (Technology Centre) or Plymouth (Devonport Dockyard). Please note that this role will be on a contract basis, working full-time at 36 hours per week.

About the role:
In support of the Central Services Finance Manager, the role of Senior Accountant includes supervising the preparation/review of Central Services cost centre accounts and consolidating accounting information for review and monthly/quarterly financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the production of accounts for central services
  • Ensure that the team are engaging in monthly reviews with managers and providing the correct level of management information to aid in operational decision making
  • Review monthly accounts and quarterly forecasts prepared by direct reports to ensure information is complete, accurate and prepared iaw timetables and financial guidelines
  • To review levels of project accruals and prepayments on a monthly basis. To ensure errors in financial records are corrected
  • Preparation of the monthly contract schedules for presentation to the customer including collating information from members of the team
  • Assist with consolidation of contract reporting requirements, including customer liaison
  • Assist with the external and internal audits
  • Assist with Ad-hoc group requests
  • Maintain strong collaborative relationships with all stakeholders
  • Perform any other reasonable duties from time to time which, in the Company’s opinion are within the job holder’s capability
  • Deputise for the Finance Manager in times of absence
What do I need to do the role?
Qualifications/Experience:
Essential:
  • Qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA
  • Significant experience in the use of Microsoft Office suite of applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to understand and manipulate data to present clear and concise financial messages for review
  • Ability to ensure deadlines and targets are achieved or surpassed
Desirable:
  • Knowledge of IFS reporting software
