EC&I Commissioning Technician (Nights)
Location: Burghfield, RG30 3RR
Duration: 26 weeks (initial contract)
Working Pattern: Full-time, site-based —
11 shifts on / 3 shifts off, nightsClearance: Must be eligible for
SC Clearance (can start with BPSS while SC is in progress)
Must Have: CSCS/ECS card prior to starting
About the Role We are seeking an experienced
Commissioning Technician to support the commissioning, installation, and handover phases of the MENSA project. You will help develop and implement commissioning arrangements across all site activities as part of the overall project lifecycle.
Working under the direction of the Commissioning Manager (or delegate), you will ensure all tasks are performed safely, accurately, and in line with approved procedures. This role involves hands-on commissioning work, documentation management, and contributing to safe site operations.
Key Responsibilities- Adhere to the Commissioning Quality Management System and apply relevant procedures, codes, and standards.
- Provide functional input into Commissioning Deliverables.
- Accurately report progress and job status to the Commissioning Manager (or delegate).
- Produce and input commissioning documentation, including test documentation and reservations.
- Follow Safe Systems of Work (SSoWs) and raise any safety issues promptly.
- Execute commissioning tests in line with scheduled requirements.
- Complete all commissioning test records, results, and raw data accurately.
- Support the compilation and review of Commissioning LTQR packages.
- Contribute to site safety initiatives, including ESH focus cards.
- Undertake installation activities and other functional tasks when required.
Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience- Recognised Level 3 qualification in engineering or construction.
- IOSH Working Safely / IOSH Managing Safely / CCNSG Safety Passport.
- Electrical commissioning experience.
- CSCS-affiliated card.
Preferred Qualifications, Skills & Experience- Experience within the nuclear industry.
- Previous nuclear site commissioning experience.
- 18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations.
- Level 3 qualification in Periodic Inspection, Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations.
- Knowledge of loop testing.
- Ability to read and interpret schematic drawings.
