Electrical Commissioning Engineer – Data Centres & Critical Infrastructure

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an accomplished Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join large‑scale data centre and mission‑critical developments in Norway. This role is ideal for engineers who thrive in hands‑on commissioning work, ensuring the reliability and performance of complex electrical systems within technically demanding environments.

Responsibilities

• Carry out detailed commissioning, testing, and validation of advanced electrical installations.
• Plan and lead integrated systems and functional performance testing.
• Conduct fault diagnosis and implement corrective measures during commissioning activities.
• Review electrical schematics, technical specifications, and design packages.
• Liaise with engineering teams, contractors, and operational stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Produce detailed commissioning documentation, including test results and handover reports.
• Champion health, safety, and quality standards throughout all project phases.
• Support continuous improvement and site readiness within project commissioning programmes.

Must‑have Requirements

• A minimum of 4 years’ technical commissioning experience in mission‑critical or large industrial settings.
• Proven expertise in HV/MV/LV systems, including generators, transformers, UPS, STS, EPMS, and switchgear.
• Strong understanding of control systems, power distribution, grounding, and instrumentation.
• Experience working with communication protocols such as Modbus and Ethernet.
• Proficiency in SCADA, PLC, and electrical protection systems.
• Ability to coordinate commissioning activities with multidisciplinary teams.
• A proactive, safety‑focused, and solutions‑driven approach.

Nice‑to‑have Skills

• Background in hyperscale data centres or large‑scale technical infrastructure.
• Knowledge of integrated building automation and monitoring systems.
• Experience delivering international commissioning projects.
