Electrical Commissioning Engineer – Data Centres & Power Infrastructure

An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced Electrical Commissioning Engineer to contribute to large‑scale data centre projects across Germany. This role is ideal for engineers with strong technical experience in electrical commissioning who are eager to deliver reliable, high‑performance systems within critical infrastructure environments.

On‑site in Germany.


Client Overview
Our client is an international engineering specialist providing testing, inspection, and validation services across complex infrastructure projects. They are known for their technical expertise, precision, and commitment to ensuring safety and operational excellence across global markets.


Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and document commissioning and verification activities for electrical installations.
• Manage integrated functional and performance testing to achieve full system readiness.
• Perform static and dynamic commissioning across different phases of project delivery.
• Review and interpret electrical designs, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Ensure alignment between site teams, design engineers, and contractors during execution.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve electrical and controls‑related issues.
• Produce commissioning records, reports, and close‑out documentation.
• Promote strict adherence to safety processes and engineering quality standards.

Must‑have Requirements

• Minimum 4 years’ experience commissioning electrical systems within data centres, power, or large industrial environments.
• Expertise across HV, MV, and LV equipment including transformers, UPS, generators, switchgear, STS, and EPMS systems.
• Good understanding of grounding, instrumentation, and control interfaces.
• Competence in PLC, SCADA, and power monitoring systems.
• Knowledge of communication protocols such as Modbus, Ethernet, and BACnet.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively on multidisciplinary, international teams.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive, solution‑oriented attitude.

Nice‑to‑have Skills

• Background delivering hyperscale data centre or mission‑critical site commissioning.
• Familiarity with integrated systems testing and building automation tools.
• Prior overseas commissioning or multi‑site project experience.
