Job Title: Finance Manager – Renewable EnergyDepartment: FinanceReports To: Finance Director / CFOLocation: New Cairo – Egypt Employment Type: Full-timeJob SummaryThe Finance Manager – Renewable Energy is responsible for overseeing financial management, reporting, and analysis for renewable energy projects and operations. The role supports strategic decision-making across project development, construction, and operational phases while ensuring strong financial controls, regulatory compliance, and optimized project returns. The ideal candidate brings 6–7 years of finance experience, including hands-on exposure to renewable energy or infrastructure projects.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & Control- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS or applicable standards.
- Ensure accurate accounting for renewable energy assets, including capitalization, depreciation, and impairment.
- Maintain strong internal controls across project and operational finances.
Project Finance & Analysis- Support financial modeling for renewable energy projects (solar, wind, BESS, hybrid).
- Analyze project IRR, NPV, cash flows, and sensitivity scenarios.
- Track project costs vs. budgets during development, construction, and operation phases.
- Support project funding structures, including equity, debt, and grants where applicable.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Performance Management- Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecasts for projects and operational assets.
- Monitor project and operational performance, identifying variances and financial risks.
- Provide actionable financial insights to management and project teams.
Cash Flow & Treasury- Manage cash flow planning at both project and corporate levels.
- Monitor debt service, covenant compliance, and lender reporting.
- Coordinate with banks, investors, and funding partners.
Compliance, Tax & Regulatory- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, energy sector requirements, and statutory reporting.
- Oversee VAT, withholding tax, and corporate tax filings related to energy projects.
- Support regulatory reporting related to tariffs, PPAs, and energy authorities.
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration- Work closely with project development, engineering, legal, and operations teams.
- Act as a finance business partner to support investment decisions and risk management.
- Coordinate with external auditors, lenders, advisors, and consultants.
Team Leadership- Supervise and mentor finance team members or project accountants.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems.
Qualifications & ExperienceEducation- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CMA, CFA, or equivalent) is strongly preferred.
Experience- 6–7 years of relevant finance experience, with exposure to renewable energy, infrastructure, or project-based industries.
- Experience in project finance, financial modeling, and capital-intensive assets.
- Familiarity with PPAs, EPC contracts, O&M agreements, and energy tariffs is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies- Strong understanding of project finance and renewable energy economics.
- Advanced financial modeling, analysis, and Excel skills.
- Experience with ERP systems and project accounting tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk assessment capabilities.
