SummaryWe’re seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to support a major energy infrastructure project on the Isle of Skye. In this on-site role, you’ll oversee compliance, monitor standards and ensure rigorous health and safety practices across all project phases.
Salary£450–£550 per day
Location and Working Pattern- Isle of Skye – on-site role (accommodation provided)
- 11 days on/3 off
Client OverviewThis project is part of a multi-million-pound upgrade to the electricity transmission network in the Scottish Highlands, which plays a crucial role in securing energy supply for local communities and enabling the integration of more renewable generation. The work involves replacing ageing infrastructure with modern, higher-capacity systems to improve reliability and capacity, helping meet the UK’s net zero targets. Once complete, this upgrade will ensure long-term power security for Skye, the Western Isles and beyond, while opening up capacity for new renewable energy projects and supporting Scotland’s clean energy ambitions.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement site-specific health and safety plans in accordance with UK legislation and project requirements
- Carry out regular inspections and audits, highlighting any non-conformities and corrective action plans
- Deliver toolbox talks and engage teams in proactive safety behaviours
- Support and lead investigations into incidents and near misses, ensuring lessons learned
- Maintain compliance documentation and produce accurate EHS reports for the project team
- Liaise with multiple stakeholders to co-ordinate safe working practices
- Review and advise on risk assessments and method statements to ensure safe systems of work
Must-have Requirements- NEBOSH qualification
- Strong understanding of UK health and safety regulations and CDM 2015 requirements
- Previous experience in substation construction projects
- Excellent ability to communicate and influence across all levels
