We are looking for an experienced O&M Mechanical Technician to join the team at a Waste to Energy facility located on the Poolbeg peninsula in Dublin. This role is ideal for a mechanically skilled professional with a strong safety focus and a background in heavy industrial maintenance. You’ll play a key role in ensuring reliable operations, minimising downtime, and contributing to the success of a sustainable energy project.

Client Overview
Our client is a global leader in sustainable energy solutions, specialising in Waste to Energy and advanced environmental technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned, preventative, and reactive mechanical maintenance on plant equipment and process systems.
  • Diagnose mechanical faults, implement repairs, and complete corrective actions to reduce downtime.
  • Inspect, lubricate, and adjust machinery for safe, reliable, and efficient performance.
  • Assist with outage planning and execution in collaboration with operations and maintenance teams.
  • Promote high standards of health, safety, and environmental performance, including involvement in inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
Must-have Requirements
  • Proven mechanical maintenance experience within heavy process or industrial environments.
  • Experience working on conveyors, gearboxes, steam-raising plant, rotating equipment, valves, and hydraulic systems.
  • Skilled in fault diagnosis, root cause analysis, and mechanical problem resolution.
  • Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship and Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Knowledge of maintenance systems, spares management, and technical documentation.
Nice-to-have Skills
  • IOSH Managing Safely certification.
  • HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Additional plant, maintenance, or safety-related certifications.
