Planning Co-ordinator Location: Warrington (Hybrid Working)
Contract: 12-month contract
Overview We are seeking an experienced Planning Co-ordinator to support a major, long-term programme within a highly regulated environment. This role will focus on managing and delivering planning permission activities, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and project timelines.
You will act as the key point of contact for all planning-related matters, working closely with engineering, environmental, and project teams to coordinate submissions and drive approvals.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the primary point of contact for all statutory and internal planning matters on the project
- Lead the preparation and submission of planning applications (incl. amendments, reserved matters, change of use, permitted development rights)
- Develop key planning documentation, including:
- Planning Policy & Context Strategies
- Design & Access Statements
- Planning Strategies and Risk Assessments
- Planning Panel Reports
- Coordinate and review supporting documents such as:
- Site appraisals
- Environmental and habitat surveys
- Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMP)
- Transport and Waste Plans
- Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) / Screening requests
- Contaminated land assessments
- Manage stakeholder engagement, including internal teams and planning authorities
- Support negotiation and discharge of planning conditions and appeals where required
- Identify risks and issues early and implement corrective actions
- Ensure planning deliverables meet quality, compliance, and programme requirements
- Provide regular progress updates and reporting
Requirements- Degree in Town Planning, Geography, Environmental Science, Engineering, or similar
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. RTPI) preferred
- Proven experience in planning coordination or a related role (c.5 years preferred)
- Strong understanding of UK planning legislation, policy, and procedures
- Experience working within highly regulated sectors (e.g. nuclear, infrastructure, energy, construction) is advantageous
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and coordination skills
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines effectively
