The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a growing project delivery team on a full-time, site-based basis in Bolton. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially astute professional to take ownership of projects from tender through to final account, ensuring strong commercial performance, contractual compliance, and successful project delivery.

You will play a key role in managing commercial risk, maximising value, and supporting operational teams throughout the project lifecycle while building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the commercial performance of projects from tender stage through to final account.
• Lead cost management, forecasting, cashflow reporting, CVRs, and financial controls.
• Manage contract administration and ensure compliance with NEC, JCT and/or ICHEME contracts.
• Lead change control processes, variations, claims, and commercial recovery strategies.
• Oversee subcontract procurement, administration, and commercial management activities.
• Prepare and negotiate interim applications for payment and support debt recovery activities.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities and implement effective mitigation plans.
• Work closely with Project Managers and site teams to achieve contractual and financial objectives.
• Provide leadership and mentoring to junior commercial staff.

 

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• 7–10 years' experience within a Quantity Surveying or commercial role.
• Strong working knowledge of NEC, JCT and/or ICHEME contracts.
• Experience managing projects through the full commercial lifecycle.
• Excellent commercial acumen with strong forecasting, reporting, and final account experience.
• Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
• Previous experience leading commercial discussions and managing contractual risk.
• Eligibility to obtain Security Clearance (SC).

 

Desirable

• Chartered status or working towards MRICS.
• CSCS Card.
• Experience delivering complex engineering, infrastructure, construction, or industrial projects.
