Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Bolton
Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday
Security Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain SC Clearance

The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a growing project delivery team on a full-time, site-based basis in Bolton. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially astute professional to take ownership of projects from tender through to final account, ensuring strong commercial performance, contractual compliance, and successful project delivery.
You will play a key role in managing commercial risk, maximising value, and supporting operational teams throughout the project lifecycle while building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Take responsibility for the commercial performance of projects from tender stage through to final account.
- Lead cost management, forecasting, cashflow reporting, CVRs, and financial controls.
- Manage contract administration and ensure compliance with NEC, JCT and/or ICHEME contracts.
- Lead change control processes, variations, claims, and commercial recovery strategies.
- Oversee subcontract procurement, administration, and commercial management activities.
- Prepare and negotiate interim applications for payment and support debt recovery activities.
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities and implement effective mitigation plans.
- Work closely with Project Managers and site teams to achieve contractual and financial objectives.
- Provide leadership and mentoring to junior commercial staff.
About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- 7–10 years' experience within a Quantity Surveying or commercial role.
- Strong working knowledge of NEC, JCT and/or ICHEME contracts.
- Experience managing projects through the full commercial lifecycle.
- Excellent commercial acumen with strong forecasting, reporting, and final account experience.
- Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Previous experience leading commercial discussions and managing contractual risk.
- Eligibility to obtain Security Clearance (SC).
Desirable- Chartered status or working towards MRICS.
- CSCS Card.
- Experience delivering complex engineering, infrastructure, construction, or industrial projects.
