Project Manager – Energy from Waste (EfW)
Location: Hinckley, Leicester

We’re working with a leading international green technology and energy solutions provider to recruit an experienced Project Manager to support the delivery of major Energy from Waste (EfW) projects.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key leadership role on complex, high-value projects, taking ownership of a major scope and driving delivery across engineering, procurement, and construction phases.

The Role
Reporting to the Project Director, you will take full responsibility for one of two key project scopes:
  • Core Products: Combustion & Boiler (CB), Flue Gas Treatment (FGT), Water-Steam Cycle (WSC), Steam Turbine Generator (STS)
    OR
  • Plant Scope: Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls (EIC), Balance of Plant (BOP), Buildings & Structures (Civil Works)
You’ll lead a team of Technical Project Managers, ensuring alignment across interfaces and driving delivery to meet cost, schedule, and quality targets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the execution of project strategy, ensuring alignment with programme and quality plans
  • Develop and maintain robust baseline schedules alongside planning teams
  • Support engineering teams to achieve timely design freezes and quality gate approvals
  • Oversee document control and ensure critical information is delivered to site on time
  • Drive a strong focus on cost control, constructability, and quality across engineering activities
  • Manage interfaces, risks, and stakeholder expectations across complex project scopes
  • Provide leadership, guidance and direction to multidisciplinary project teams
About You
  • Degree-qualified in an engineering discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong background in industrial/process plant or power generation projects (EfW highly desirable)
  • Proven experience delivering complex projects across engineering, construction, or commissioning phases
  • Demonstrable leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong commercial awareness, with experience managing contracts, risk, and supplier relationships
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Resilient, results-driven, and able to perform under project pressure
Desirable
  • Experience in Energy from Waste, CHP, or thermal power projects
  • Project Management certification (PMI / IPMA)
  • SAP knowledge
  • German language skills
