Regional Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced Ship‑to‑Ship (STS) Operations Manager to lead and develop regional STS operations across India. This role is ideal for a maritime professional passionate about operational excellence and safety, with the opportunity to drive growth and performance within an established international organisation.


Location and Working Pattern
India – full‑time position with some travel required.


Client Overview
Our client is a global maritime organisation providing high‑quality ship‑to‑ship transfer, logistics and operational management services to oil majors, traders and vessel owners. They are known for their strong safety culture, operational reliability, and technical expertise across global STS hubs.



Responsibilities

• Lead day‑to‑day STS operations within the assigned region.
• Deliver safe, compliant, and efficient transfers in line with OCIMF guidelines and local regulations.
• Manage and develop relationships with charterers, oil majors, traders, vessel owners, agents, and other key stakeholders.
• Coordinate operational resources, including mooring masters, equipment, and local contractors.
• Recruit, train, and lead regional operations teams, promoting a culture of safety and performance.
• Drive continuous improvement and the adoption of best practices in all operational areas.
• Support incident investigations, emergency response, and HSEQ initiatives.
• Contribute to regional business development, tendering, and operational planning activities.

Must‑have Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ shore‑based STS operational experience.
• At least 3 years’ experience managing operational teams.
• Excellent knowledge of OCIMF Ship‑to‑Ship (STS) Transfer Guide requirements.
• Proven experience in tanker operations and marine logistics management.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to oversee multiple operations simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
• Willingness to travel as operational needs require.

Nice‑to‑have Skills

• Background as Master Mariner, Chief Officer, Marine Superintendent, or a similar maritime discipline.
• Experience collaborating with oil majors, traders, or international tanker operators.
• Previous involvement in launching or growing STS operations in new regions.
• Experience operating in major STS hubs such as the Middle East, Brazil, or India.
