Job Title
Assistant Mooring Master / Rigger


Summary
We’re looking for four experienced Assistant Mooring Masters / Riggers to support Ship-to-Ship (STS) operations in the Bacia de Santos region. This role is ideal for individuals with hands-on marine experience who can combine offshore operations support with equipment upkeep. You’ll need to work safely in a dynamic, rotational offshore schedule while using your skills to maintain mooring equipment and assist during ship operations.


Location and Working Pattern
  • Offshore (Bacia de Santos STS operating area) with duties at the equipment storage and maintenance base
  • Full-time position with offshore rotation and equipment duties as scheduled

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Mooring Master during approach, mooring, cargo transfer and unmooring stages of STS operations
  • Carry out rigging, line-handling, and fender/hose deployment and recovery safely in line with procedures
  • Perform pre-operation checks and support checklists before nomination, before/after mooring, transfer, and unberthing
  • Attend toolbox talks and safety briefings before every operation
  • Inspect, clean, and maintain fenders, hoses, mooring lines and ancillary equipment between operations
  • Monitor equipment certification and condition, reporting any defects or wear to the Operations Coordinator
  • Support equipment mobilisation and demobilisation from the operating area to the storage base
  • Follow HSEQ requirements, PPE standards and permit-to-work procedures during operations

Must-have Requirements
  • Previous experience as a rigger, able seaman, deck rating, or in a similar offshore role
  • STCW basic safety training (or willingness to obtain before deployment)
  • Experience with mooring operations, rigging, or fender/hose handling (advantage)
  • Offshore medical fitness certificate (or ability to obtain)
  • Fluent English and Portuguese, both spoken

Nice-to-have Skills
  • Knowledge of mechanical maintenance tasks
  • Strong teamwork and adaptability for rotational shifts and short-notice mobilisation
  • Ability to follow safety procedures with discipline and precision
