Security Engineer

Job Title: Security Engineer – Data Centre Projects (Norway) Location: Norway (On-site / Project-based) Industry: Data Centre Infrastructure Employment Type: Contract / Permanent (as applicable) Overview We are seeking an experienced Security Engineer with strong Data Centre industry experience and hands-on experience and previous Google experience to support a large-scale data centre development in Norway. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining physical and technical security systems in line with global hyperscale standards. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage physical security systems for data centre environments, including access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, and perimeter security
• Ensure security designs comply with Google data centre standards, project specifications, and local Norwegian regulations
• Collaborate closely with project management, construction, engineering, and commissioning teams
• Conduct security risk assessments, site surveys, and threat analyses
• Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of security systems
• Review and approve security drawings, specifications, and vendor submittals
• Manage security system vendors and subcontractors on-site
• Support operational handover, documentation, and security SOP development
• Participate in audits, inspections, and compliance reviews
• Provide ongoing technical support during construction and operational phases

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Security Engineer within the Data Centre industry
• Direct experience working on Google data centre projects (mandatory)
• Strong knowledge of hyperscale data centre security architecture and best practices
• Experience with access control systems, CCTV, alarm systems, and integrated security platforms
• Familiarity with construction-phase security implementation
• Strong understanding of security standards, policies, and compliance requirements
• Ability to read and review technical drawings and specifications
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)

Nice to Have

• Experience working on hyperscale data centres (Google, Meta, Microsoft, AWS)
• Knowledge of Norwegian regulations, HSE requirements, and local codes
• Security certifications (e.g. CPP, PSP, CISSP, or equivalent)
• Experience working on large international infrastructure projects
