We are supporting a leading organisation within the Energy-from-Waste (EfW) and power generation sector in the search for an experienced Site Quality Manager to join their project delivery team across the South East of England.

This is a senior, site-based leadership role with full responsibility for quality across complex industrial projects. Candidates must have demonstrable boiler experience within EfW or power plant environments.

The Role
As Site Quality Manager, you will take ownership of all on-site quality activities, ensuring that construction and installation works are delivered in full compliance with contractual, regulatory, and company standards.

You will act as the Site Quality Control (QC) Lead, reporting directly to the Project Site Manager, with a functional reporting line to the Project Quality Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all Site Quality Control (QC) activities, including oversight of the on-site quality team
  • Act as the primary QC Lead on site, ensuring alignment with project and corporate quality standards
  • Ensure full compliance with HSE requirements, quality standards, and contractual obligations
  • Review, approve, and control inspection and test plans (ITPs), procedures, certifications, and documentation
  • Manage and conduct intermediate and final inspections (IIS, FIS, MEC/TOP)
  • Record, track, and manage deviations and non-conformances using QC systems (e.g. PIRS, LMS, ALP)
  • Collaborate closely with construction, engineering, and subcontractor teams to drive quality performance
About You
Technical & Professional Experience
  • Proven experience within plant engineering, construction, or manufacturing environments
  • Strong background in boilers, piping, steel structures, or pressure equipment
  • Experience working on EPC projects within EfW, power generation, or similar industrial sectors
  • Welding qualification (e.g. Welding Engineer or Specialist)
  • CSWIP Welding Inspector certification
  • Solid knowledge of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) standards (e.g. EN ISO 9712)
  • Strong understanding of codes, standards, and directives relevant to plant construction
Skills & Competencies
  • Demonstrated leadership in site-based quality roles on complex industrial projects
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage contractors, inspectors, and project teams
  • High attention to detail with a strong compliance focus
  • Confident communicator in English (additional languages advantageous)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality management systems
