We are partnering with a leading organisation in sustainable infrastructure to recruit an experienced
Design Coordinator to support the delivery of a major civil works package on a flagship Energy Recovery Facility project in Walsall.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a high-value (£40m ) infrastructure scheme, contributing to the delivery of innovative, low-carbon solutions within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
The Role As Design Coordinator, you will be central to managing civil design activities across the project. You will ensure effective coordination between engineering disciplines, subcontractors, and stakeholders to drive safe, efficient, and high-quality project delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate civil design deliverables from subcontractors, working closely with the Lead Civil Engineer
- Ensure all designs align with contractual requirements, programme, budget, HSE, and quality standards
- Manage design interfaces between consultants and internal engineering teams, including planning and progress tracking
- Review and assess design submissions for constructability, technical compliance, and risk
- Act as a key point of contact for civil design matters, representing the function in internal and external meetings
- Maintain clear and effective communication across all project stakeholders
About You Qualifications & Experience- Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline
- Demonstrated experience within the construction or infrastructure sector
- Proven track record working on large-scale civil packages (circa £40m ) within major projects
- Experience with Tier 1 contractors or large organisations delivering complex civil works
- Strong background in design coordination across industrial, infrastructure, or process/plant environments
Skills & Competencies- Highly organised with strong coordination and planning abilities
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proactive, solution-focused mindset with strong problem-solving capability
- Ability to manage multiple interfaces and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Fluent in English (additional languages are advantageous)
