Large offshore oil drilling rig in the Gulf

Spotlight on: Offshore oil & gas projects

We regularly support our engineering clients with UK and international offshore oil and gas projects, including recruiting for maintenance shutdowns.

Offshore work opportunities for skilled trades

From Aberdeen, Norwich and Blackpool to the Norwegian continental shelf, we’ve placed hundreds of candidates on high-profile offshore oil and gas projects to help our clients manage their work programmes. Engineering projects we recruit for include maintenance shutdowns, upgrade improvements and rig decommissioning.

We recruit skilled personnel across a wide range of offshore oil and gas disciplines, including operations, mechanical and electrical maintenance, deck and rope access, scaffolding, welding, painting, plumbing, insulation, HVAC, instrumentation, and deck crew roles. As well as specialist areas such as control room operations, helideck support, LOLER focal points, and material coordination.

Working offshore safely and compliantly

To take up offshore oil and gas work opportunities, you’ll need to hold safety certifications, designed to protect you and your colleagues. In return, we’re committed to upholding the Energy Services Agreement (ESA) when it comes to fair and equitable pay and working hours.

We require candidates to hold:

  • MIST – Minimum Industry Standard Training

  • Offshore Survival Training

  • Standard Offshore UK Medical

Various other qualifications and certifications maybe required depending on the role you’re applying for, but our recruitment team will discuss this with you during your application.

How long are the contract roles?

The duration of offshore oil and gas projects can vary significantly depending on the scope of the programme and the specific role involved. Some projects may span just a few weeks or months, such as short-term maintenance shutdowns or drilling operations. Whilst others, like full field developments or platform installations, could be considerably longer, with shore leave factored in to visit home. We also have ongoing requirements with clients to work on operations and maintenance (O&M) projects, working on rotation.
