We are seeking experienced
Acoustic Tilers to join a major submarine refit project based at
Devonport Dockyard. This is a long-term opportunity with approximately
12 months of continuous work, offering stable, structured hours and overtime availability.
Role Overview: You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality acoustic tiling work in line with project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements. This is a hands‑on, safety‑critical role within a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities- Carry out acoustic tiling tasks safely and efficiently in accordance with project specifications
- Follow all RAMS and complete POWRA assessments prior to starting work
- Maintain strict adherence to PPE requirements and site safety procedures
- Operate hand tools and specialist equipment safely (e.g., vacuum systems, mixers)
- Conduct pre‑use equipment checks and report defects promptly
- Support QA/QC processes, including accurate recording of materials and batch numbers
- Minimise material waste and ensure efficient use of resources
- Maintain high housekeeping standards and safe management of hoses/equipment
- Participate in toolbox talks and safety briefings
- Provide support to less experienced operatives when required
- Report issues, disruptions, or safety concerns to the Painting Supervisor
What You Will Bring- Proven experience in acoustic tiling
- Defence Standard 08‑121 Issue 3 Method 2 certification preferred (requalification training available)
- Strong understanding of health & safety in a site environment
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and method statements
- Experience using tools and equipment relevant to the role
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
- Flexible, proactive approach to changing work demands
- Awareness of quality and environmental standards
Additional Requirements- British Citizenship - required to obtain SC clearance; BPSS can be used to start
- Ability to pass D&A screening on day one
- Standard 37‑hour week with weekday and weekend overtime available
