Job Advert: CS&A Senior Technician – 12‑Month Contract (Inside IR35) Clearance: BPSS (with progression to SC)
Location: Dalton Avenue, Warrington (Hybrid – 2 days per week on site)
Duration: 12 months, with potential ongoing work across wider civil capability requirements
About the Role: A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced
CS&A Senior Technician to join a major engineering design team supporting a high‑profile nuclear‑sector project. You’ll play a key role in delivering Civil, Structural and Architectural design activities, providing technical expertise, mentoring others, and contributing to the full lifecycle of design development.
This role sits within a multidisciplinary environment, working closely with engineers, architects and project teams to deliver high‑quality design solutions. You’ll be involved in concept development through to detailed design, ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety requirements and BIM processes.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver civil, structural and architectural design work, including inspections and construction support.
- Produce models and drawings using Autodesk tools, particularly Civils 3D, Revit, AutoCAD and Navisworks.
- Work collaboratively within integrated multi‑disciplinary teams.
- Support BIM‑compliant processes and potentially undertake specific BIM roles.
- Mentor apprentices and junior technicians, supporting their technical development.
- Assist in resolving design, fabrication, construction and commissioning challenges.
- Report progress and estimates to complete assigned tasks.
- Check outputs from other technicians and ensure inter‑discipline integration.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and learning‑from‑experience activities.
- Act as a subject matter expert for CS&A design and detailing software.
- Uphold the highest standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.
- Support tendering activities and business development where required.
Essential Requirements- HNC minimum in a relevant discipline.
- Strong experience across the full lifecycle of CS&A design.
- Excellent CAD capability and understanding of BIM processes.
- Strong knowledge of engineering and architectural drawing practice.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work across disciplines.
- Civils 3D experience is vital.
Additional Information- Candidates from other regulated industries will be considered; nuclear experience is not essential.
- Role is inside IR35, so travel and accommodation expenses cannot be claimed.
