Are you an experienced environmental or waste management professional looking to step into a senior-level consultancy role? One of our leading clients in the nuclear and environmental sector is looking to appoint a Senior Environmental Consultant to join their expanding team in Warrington.

The Role

As a Senior Environmental Consultant, you will play a key role in delivering complex technical work packages, providing strategic direction, and shaping environmental and waste management outcomes across major nuclear programmes.

You will be a trusted expert, using your technical knowledge to guide clients, support decision-making, and mentor colleagues within the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and resolve complex technical challenges relating to nuclear waste management.
• Produce high-quality technical reports, documentation, and strategic guidance.
• Deliver clear presentations and advice to internal and external stakeholders.
• Mentor and support junior team members, contributing to long-term capability development.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders and customers.
• Contribute to business development and wider consultancy growth plans.
• Support planning, permitting, compliance, and environmental assurance activities.

 

Experience Required

We’re looking for someone with strong industry experience in the nuclear sector, including:

• Decommissioning planning and delivery.
• Integrated waste management strategies and waste characterisation.
• Environmental planning, permitting, and regulatory compliance.
• Proven experience influencing and engaging senior stakeholders.
• Leadership or line management experience.
• Strong technical authoring and peer-review capability.
• Previous consultancy experience delivering strategic or complex projects.

 

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or Science (or equivalent).
• Chartered or Incorporated Engineer/Scientist status is highly desirable.
• Additional nuclear safety or waste management certifications are an advantage.

 

Security Clearance
