Summary
We’re seeking an experienced Site HSE Manager to join a major engineering project based in Wesseling, Germany. This role is ideal for a qualified safety professional who can provide strong leadership and ensure compliance with all HSE regulations on-site. If you’re passionate about driving safety performance and fluent in German and English, this is a great opportunity to apply your expertise on a high-profile project.


Salary
€80 – €100 per hour


Location and Working Pattern

• Location: Wesseling, Germany
• Working Hours: 48-hour week
• Start Date: ASAP
• Duration: 6+ months

Client Overview
Our client is a global engineering and services organisation delivering complex projects across the energy sector.



Responsibilities

• Act as appointed SiGeKo and ensure all activities comply with relevant HSE laws, codes, standards, and practices.
• Support the implementation of the project’s safety programme and achieve all HSE targets.
• Evaluate contractor HSE plans, competencies, and work processes.
• Review and approve safety documentation including JSA, STA, and TSTI.
• Conduct site safety inspections and audits, providing professional guidance throughout.
• Deliver and support site safety training and toolbox talks.
• Lead incident reporting, investigation, and emergency response activities.
• Maintain accurate HSE records and provide input for reports and KPIs.
• Collaborate with project teams to maintain a safe working environment across all activities.

Must-have Requirements

• German Occupational Health and Safety qualification.
• SiGeKo certification.
• Fluent in German and English (written and spoken).
• Previous experience in petrochemical, oil, or gas industries as an HSE advisor or similar role.
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards, specifications, and codes.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence safety behaviours.
• Competency in MS Office applications.
• Recognised audit training.

Nice-to-have Skills

• Relevant academic qualification in health and safety or engineering.
• Proven track record in large-scale construction projects.
