Instrument Commissioning & Start-Up Technician Summary We’re looking for an experienced Instrument Commissioning & Start-Up Technician for a 5-month self-employed contract in Brisbane, Australia. This role is ideal for professionals who hold the right to work self-employed in Australia and have expertise in instrumentation commissioning and start-up activities.
Location and Working Pattern Brisbane, Australia – On-site contract.

Responsibilities- Deliver reliable, high-quality instrumentation commissioning and start-up services for control systems.
- Adhere to all site safety requirements, procedures and permit systems.
- Perform commissioning, troubleshooting, repair and calibration of instrumentation including transmitters, fire and gas systems, control valves and monitoring systems.
- Inspect, adjust, test and commission instrumentation equipment to applicable standards.
- Execute Cause & Effect testing, loop testing, calibration, and system walkdowns.
- Close out punch lists and ensure compliance with system requirements.
- Support vendor personnel and coordinate with other disciplines during start-up activities.
Must-have Requirements- Minimum 5 years’ experience in instrumentation commissioning and start-up.
- Certificate III in Instrumentation Craft (or equivalent).
- EEHA certification.
- Valid First Aid and LV Rescue qualifications.
- Queensland Electrical Licence.
- Right to work as self-employed in Australia (Australian citizen or equivalent).
Nice-to-have Skills- Strong troubleshooting ability across diverse systems.
- Previous experience working on major industrial or energy projects.
