Commissioning Manager – Mechanical or Process Bias
Location: Liverpool
Contract: 6 months initial (project outlook up to 18 months)
Hours: 50 hours per week
Rate: All‑inclusive day or hourly rate (local candidates only)

A major industrial site in Liverpool is seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager with either a Mechanical or Process background to support a large-scale commissioning programme. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced, complex environment and can drive commissioning activities safely, efficiently, and in line with project milestones.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate all commissioning activities across mechanical or process systems
  • Develop and manage commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules
  • Interface with construction, engineering, and operations teams to ensure readiness for commissioning
  • Oversee system testing, verification, and handover documentation
  • Ensure compliance with site standards, safety requirements, and regulatory expectations
  • Provide technical guidance and resolve commissioning-related issues on site
  • Report progress, risks, and performance metrics to project leadership.
Requirements
  • Strong commissioning background within industrial, refinery, chemical, or similar heavy-process environments
  • Mechanical or Process engineering bias with proven experience leading commissioning teams
  • Ability to manage multiple work fronts and maintain tight control over schedule and quality
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
  • Available for a 50-hour working week
Contract Details
  • 6‑month initial contract, with project visibility extending up to 18 months
  • All‑inclusive rate only (day or hourly)
  • Site-based role at a major refinery facility in Liverpool
