Job Title
Electrical Commissioning & Start‑Up Technician


Summary
We’re seeking an experienced Electrical Commissioning & Start‑Up Technician for a 5‑month contract in Australia. This role is ideal for someone skilled in electrical commissioning, testing and troubleshooting, who wants to work on challenging industrial projects. Location and Working Pattern
On‑site in Brisbane, Australia. Full‑time contract position.


Client Overview
Our client is a leading engineering solutions provider focused on delivering high‑quality project services, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.


Responsibilities
  • Deliver commissioning and start‑up activities in line with project requirements, company procedures and industry standards.
  • Comply with all safety rules, cardinal requirements and safe work practices at all times.
  • Perform commissioning, testing, troubleshooting and repair of MCCs, VSDs, distribution boards, motors, lighting systems and small power installations.
  • Inspect, test, adjust and commission electrical equipment in accordance with applicable standards.
  • Execute Cause & Effect testing, conduct system walkdowns, manage defect rectification and punch‑list closeout.
  • Collaborate closely with OEMs, vendors and multidisciplinary teams to support start‑up activities.

Must‑have Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in electrical commissioning and start‑up roles.
  • Cert III Electrical Craft qualification.
  • EEHA certification (Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas).
  • Current First Aid and LV Rescue certifications.
  • Valid Queensland Electrical Licence.
  • Australian citizenship or legal right to work as self‑employed in Australia.

Nice‑to‑have Skills
  • Experience with large‑scale industrial projects.
  • Familiarity with engineering standards and best practices for commissioning.
