Construction Manager

Summary

We’re seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join a leading international construction company, supporting complex building projects based on site in Germany. This position is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills and a background in managing large‑scale construction works. You'll be pivotal in maintaining safety, quality and efficiency across every stage of delivery.

Responsibilities

• Establish and monitor key stage programmes to ensure projects run to schedule
• Set up and maintain secure, organised site operations, including hutting, hoardings and signage
• Plan, coordinate and oversee subcontractor and trade activities on site
• Manage applications for temporary service connections and ensure availability of plant and materials
• Interpret technical drawings and specifications, communicating clear direction to all site personnel
• Ensure method statements and risk assessments are completed for high‑risk tasks
• Liaise with the professional team to request necessary information and confirm instructions
• Verify all required approvals are obtained to enable safe project progression
• Work with the Environmental Coordinator to implement environmental controls as defined in the HSE plan
• Attend and document site, subcontract and internal meetings with clear follow‑up actions

Must‑have Requirements

• Proven experience in construction management or a similar supervisory role
• First Aid at Work certificate
• IOSH or equivalent Health and Safety management training
• Training in Temporary Works and Excavation Safety
• Knowledge of permitting for live energy works
• Competence in Working at Height and Scaffolding Safety
• Experience with lifting and cranage operations
• Understanding of HSEQS principles and procedures

Nice‑to‑have Skills

• Experience working on large‑scale or international construction projects
• Ability to identify buildability and programme efficiencies
