Overview
We are looking for a Cost Controller to support the financial management of large-scale renewable energy projects across multiple regions. This role focuses on budgeting, cost tracking, forecasting, and ensuring financial discipline throughout the project lifecycle.
You’ll work closely with project managers, procurement, and finance teams to keep projects on budget and provide clear, timely insights that support decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Cost Planning & Budgeting
- Develop detailed project budgets in coordination with project and engineering teams
- Review and validate cost estimates for accuracy and completeness
- Support investment decisions with financial analysis
Cost Monitoring & Control
- Track actual costs against budgets and identify variances
- Maintain cost control systems and ensure data accuracy
- Monitor commitments, expenditures, and cash flow
Forecasting & Reporting
- Prepare regular cost reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Update forecasts based on project progress and risks
- Provide clear explanations of variances and recommended actions
Project Support
- Work with project managers to ensure financial targets are met
- Support contract management and change order evaluation
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or timelines
Risk Management
- Identify financial risks and propose mitigation strategies
- Track contingencies and ensure proper allocation and use
Compliance & Processes
- Ensure adherence to internal financial policies and procedures
- Support audits and maintain proper documentation
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or related field
Experience
- 3–7 years of experience in cost control, preferably in energy, infrastructure, or construction
- Experience working on international or multi-site projects is a plus
- Renewable energy experience (solar, wind, BESS, etc.) is highly preferred
Skills
- Strong financial analysis and budgeting skills
- Proficiency in Excel and cost control tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Good understanding of project lifecycle and contract structures
- Attention to detail with strong organizational skills
- Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical teams
Languages
- English required; additional languages are a plus
