Job Overview – Sr. Electrical & Instrument Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced renewable Industry Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for review and preparation of MV and HV system E&I design requirements, review of implementation, approval during testing and commissioning apart from trouble shooting as & when required. The engineer shall collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective planning, installation, and operation of electrical and instrumentation systems. The position is based out of Cairo, Egypt, reporting to the Head of Engineering.
Responsibilities
- Design review and develop electrical and instrumentation systems for renewable industry facilities, including generation, distribution, and control systems.
- Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical and instrumentation systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- If required, Troubleshoot, and resolve electrical and instrumentation issues, utilizing diagnostic tools and techniques.
- Conduct technical assessments and provide recommendations for improvements to electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to electrical and instrumentation engineering in the renewable industry.
- Review and approve technical documentation, including drawings, schematics, and operating manuals.
- Grid code compliance checks w.r.t electrical & instrumentation requirements.
Requirements
- Proven experience in designing, installing, and maintaining electrical and instrumentation systems within the renewable industry.
- Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations related to electrical and instrumentation engineering in the renewable industry.
- Strong understanding of electrical power systems, control systems, and instrumentation principles.
- Proficiency in using industry-specific software and tools for electrical and instrumentation engineering.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams.
- Detail-oriented and able to work with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Qualifications in Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering or any other related field. Higher degree preferred.
- 6 years of experience, preferably in a design / EPC role for PV projects.
Skills
- Instrumentation Knowledge: Understanding of various types of instruments (sensors, transmitters, actuators) and their applications.
- Control Systems: Knowledge of control theory, including PID controllers, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems.
- Signal Processing: Skills in analysing and processing signals from sensors and instruments.
- Measurement Techniques: Proficiency in different measurement techniques and standards.
- CAD Software: Familiarity with computer-aided design tools for creating instrument diagrams (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
- Simulation Software: Experience with tools for simulating control systems (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink).
- Programming Skills: Knowledge of programming languages relevant to automation (e.g., Python, C , or ladder logic for PLCs).
