Drainage Engineer

I am recruiting for a Highway Drainage Engineer in Derby to support the Flooding and Drainage commissioning of various highway infrastructure assets drainage projects. Hybrid role, 6-month rolling contract, hourly rate is based on experience.

(Derbyshire County Council, Station Road, Darley Dale, Matlock, DE4 2EQ) 2 days per week. Contract period of six months, with the potential to extend depending on workload and budget availability

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage cyclic, reactive, and planned works on the highway drainage network
• Undertake site inspections and surveys as required
• Support the collection and management of data relating to highway drainage assets
• Provide timely and appropriate responses to customer and service user enquiries

Skills & Experience Required:

• BTec Higher in Civil Engineering or equivalent, with relevant post-qualification experience
• Strong technical and practical problem-solving abilities
• Experience in highway drainage asset management and maintenance, or transferable skills from a similar field
• These roles will work closely with other services across the Highways Division to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
