Client Overview Our client is a recognised leader in delivering complex engineering projects, committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance.
Responsibilities- Lead and manage the health and safety function on assigned projects
- Advise and guide project managers, engineers, and supervisors on safety requirements
- Embed safety in planning, delivery, and close-out stages of projects
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and company procedures
- Develop and review project safety plans, risk assessments, and method statements
- Conduct inspections, audits, and incident investigations, ensuring corrective actions
- Monitor subcontractor compliance and support project teams where needed
- Promote a strong safety culture through visible leadership and engagement
- Deliver safety briefings, toolbox talks, and training sessions
- Prepare and present safety reports to project and business leadership
- Maintain accurate records of inspections and incidents
- Support the BU Head of Safety with reporting consistency and performance tracking
Must-have Requirements- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification in occupational health and safety
- Professional membership of IOSH or an equivalent body
- Proven experience managing safety teams or site-based safety professionals
Nice-to-have Skills- Postgraduate qualification in health and safety, risk management or a related discipline
- Additional training in behavioural safety or leadership coaching
- Experience in environmental and sustainability aspects of project delivery
