Job Title
Lead Instrumentation & Control Engineer
Summary
Seeking expressions of interest for a potential upcoming project with starts expected towards the end of June. We require a Lead I&C Engineer with strong experience in control systems, automation, and safety instrumented systems for an onshore oil and gas development.
Salary
Competitive day rates (outside IR35)
Location and Working Pattern
Woking, UK – Office-based, 5 days per week
Responsibilities

• Lead I&C team across FEED and detailed design phases
• Develop instrument specifications, datasheets, and design diagrams
• Define control system architecture and logic diagrams
• Liaise with vendors and review equipment for compliance with project specifications
• Oversee SIL calculations and ensure functional safety implementation
• Support FAT/SAT activities and technical reviews
• Approve deliverables within scope and ensure adherence to schedule

Must-have Requirements

• Extensive experience in instrumentation and control design for oil & gas projects
• In-depth understanding of process automation and global industry standards
• Skilled in reviewing control system configurations and implementing functional safety

Nice-to-have Skills

• Experience delivering projects to Aramco standards (SAES) highly desirable
• Working knowledge of PLC/DCS systems from major vendors
