Job Title Lead Safety Engineer
Summary Seeking expressions of interest for a potential upcoming project with starts expected towards the end of June. We are looking for an experienced Lead Safety Engineer to provide technical leadership and assurance across FEED and detailed design stages for an onshore oil and gas project.
Salary Competitive day rates (outside IR35)
Location and Working Pattern Woking, UK – Office-based, 5 days per week
Responsibilities- Lead the safety engineering scope across FEED and detailed design
- Develop and review safety deliverables including HAZID/HAZOP, SIL, and QRA reports
- Support implementation of safety processes and compliance with regulations
- Liaise with projects and other disciplines to ensure ALARP principles are achieved
- Provide leadership during safety-related reviews and audits
- Act as technical focal point for process safety issues and regulatory compliance
- Mentor team members and support knowledge transfer
Must-have Requirements- Proven experience in safety engineering for onshore oil & gas projects
- Strong understanding of process safety standards and risk assessment techniques
- Demonstrated ability to lead HAZOP, HAZID, and functional safety reviews
Nice-to-have Skills- Experience delivering projects to Aramco standards (SAES) highly desirable
- Familiarity with international codes and client safety philosophies
