Summary
We’re looking for a talented Mechanical Engineer to join a leading construction organisation’s Life Sciences division in Limerick. This role is ideal for someone experienced in mechanical and building services delivery who thrives on managing technical projects from design to completion. You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring projects meet quality, safety and compliance standards, while contributing to innovation and sustainability initiatives.

Client Overview
Our client is a long-established international construction company recognised for delivering excellence across major projects. They work on leading-edge developments in sectors including life sciences, healthcare and technology, providing certainty, quality and value to their clients.


Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership for all mechanical and building services activities.
  • Oversee design, installation, commissioning and handover of MEP systems.
  • Ensure integration of mechanical systems with structural, architectural and civil works.
  • Review and approve technical documentation, design submissions and specifications for compliance.
  • Monitor project performance, risk and compliance for all MEP elements.
  • Implement best practice processes for design coordination and construction methodology.
  • Lead investigations into technical incidents and share lessons learned.
  • Mentor and support technical staff to develop knowledge and capabilities.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and regulators to meet technical requirements.


Must-have Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
  • Significant experience in mechanical and MEP leadership within construction.
  • Strong knowledge of statutory, regulatory and contractual compliance requirements.


Nice-to-have Skills
  • Professional membership (CIBSE, IET or equivalent).
  • Postgraduate qualification in Building Services, Engineering Management or Sustainability.
  • Experience with BIM for MEP, digital engineering or smart technologies.
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency, carbon management and sustainability frameworks.
