Job Title Operations Coordinator
Summary
We’re seeking an experienced Operations Coordinator to manage Ship-to-Ship (STS) transfer schedules and related operational processes in São Paulo, Brazil. This role is ideal for someone with strong organisational skills, a background in maritime or offshore operations, and fluency in both Portuguese and English. Responsibilities- Plan and coordinate STS operation schedules, including nominating vessels, Mooring Masters, POAC and support equipment
- Prepare and control Joint Plan of Operation (JPO), risk assessments and operational checklists
- Liaise with shipowners, charterers, agents and port/terminal representatives for vessel compatibility and ETAs
- Coordinate communications and notifications to Capitania dos Portos (DPC), ANP and IBAMA as per regulations
- Track equipment certification status and manage renewals (fenders, hoses, mooring lines)
- Maintain accurate operational records and evidence files in line with company procedures
- Support post-operation reporting, including incidents and near-miss registers
- Provide on-call operational support outside office hours on a rotational basis
Must-have Requirements- Degree or technical qualification in Nautical Sciences, Maritime Operations, Logistics, or a related field
- Experience in ship agency, port operations, offshore operations, or maritime coordination
- Strong knowledge of Brazilian maritime regulatory requirements (NORMAM and Capitania dos Portos)
- Fluent in Portuguese and English, both spoken and written
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Nice-to-have Skills- Previous experience as Brazilian Navy Officer or ex-Merchant Marine personnel
- Familiarity with structured documentation and compliance systems
