The Regional HSE Lead will hold overall responsibility for health, safety and environmental performance across a portfolio of life sciences construction projects in multiple European countries. Acting as the senior safety authority for the region, this role will guide project teams, drive compliance, and ensure best practice HSE standards are embedded across all sites. Significant travel across Europe is required to provide visible leadership and engagement. Responsibilities Strategic Leadership
  • Serve as the primary regional authority for HSE, setting direction across multiple sites.
  • Develop, implement and maintain governance frameworks aligned with corporate and legal requirements.
  • Coordinate HSE strategies that reflect life sciences project complexity and regulatory demands.
Compliance and Risk Management
  • Oversee development and review of safety management plans for all projects.
  • Conduct audits, inspections and intervene where required to maintain compliance.
  • Ensure consistent incident investigation standards and root cause analysis across all sites.
Culture and Engagement
  • Actively promote a positive safety culture through leadership visits, training and behavioural programmes.
  • Deliver HSE briefings to regional management and workforce teams.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to project-based HSE professionals.
Reporting and Assurance
  • Consolidate regional data into accurate reports for executive leadership.
  • Track KPIs and identify trends to drive continuous improvement.
Experience Essential
  • Proven experience as a senior HSE leader across multiple large-scale construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of life sciences / cleanroom construction projects.
  • Capability to influence across countries, cultures and large contractor frameworks.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Desirable
  • Experience in overseeing mission-critical or highly regulated sectors across Europe.
  • Familiarity with advanced digital HSE reporting platforms.
