Summary

We are recruiting an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading construction business on a major data centre project in Norway. This role is ideal for a commercially driven professional with strong expertise in contractual and financial project management. You’ll play a key part in ensuring success while working on high-value complex projects with an international team.

Client Overview

Our client is an established engineering and construction organisation, recognised for delivering innovative projects worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the commercial strategy and ensure compliance across all contracts
• Lead procurement activities including tenders, subcontract selection and order management
• Prepare and present cash flow forecasts, cost projections and valuations
• Manage and agree on variations and final accounts in a timely manner
• Maintain accurate project risk and opportunity registers
• Handle dispute resolution, claims preparation, and stakeholder representation
• Provide guidance and mentorship to Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Quantity Surveyors
• Ensure accurate commercial and contractual reporting to senior management

 

Must-have Requirements

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
• Proven experience with design and build contracts, high-value projects and complex frameworks
• Strong commercial acumen and cost management expertise
• Ability to interpret and apply contract law and manage contractual risks
• Proficiency in procurement management and financial reporting
• Training in dispute resolution and contract law
• Strong leadership and communication skills

 

Nice-to-have Skills

• Chartered membership of RICS, CIOB or an equivalent body
• Experience with NEC or JCT forms
• Continuous professional development in commercial management and industry trends
