Senior Mechanical Quantity Surveyor

Summary We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Quantity Surveyor to manage pre-contract activities for a major project. Initially based on a hybrid arrangement in Dublin, this role will transition to on-site in the Netherlands when construction begins. Ideal for someone with strong commercial and tendering expertise, this position offers the opportunity to contribute to a high-profile international project within the life sciences sector.

Location and Working Pattern Hybrid working from Dublin for the pre-contract phase, moving to the Netherlands for site-based work during construction. Some intermittent travel will be required during the tender clarification stage.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate capital cost estimates for projects.
  • Assist with tendering procedures and contract arrangements.
  • Develop comprehensive tender packages, including package assembly.
  • Prepare pricing documents and/or Bills of Quantities (BoQs) for tender packages.
  • Manage the tender process and liaise with key stakeholders.
  • Review and assess tender submissions through to recommendation stage.
  • Conduct tender clarifications and negotiations with bidders.
  • Prepare tender evaluation reports and recommendations for contract award.
  • Support finalisation of contract agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement procedures and governance requirements.
  • Liaise with design teams to guarantee completeness of tender information.
  • Identify and manage commercial risks during the tender process.
  • Maintain clear documentation and audit trails for all procurement activities.
Must-have Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Quantity Surveyor in large-scale projects.
  • Strong knowledge of tendering and pre-contract procedures.
  • Experience within the pharmaceutical or life sciences sector is essential.
