Summary
Join a leading construction business delivering major data centre projects as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, based in Amsterdam on a permanent basis. This role suits an experienced quantity surveying professional with a strong commercial background who thrives in fast-paced, complex environments. You’ll lead strategic commercial management on large-scale data centre builds while mentoring junior team members and driving project success.

Amsterdam, Netherlands – Permanent position. Full-time on-site role.


Client Overview
Our client is a globally recognised contractor specialising in delivering high-quality construction projects, including cutting-edge data centres, to leading technology clients across Europe.


Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of the commercial strategy for data centre projects and adapt where required
  • Represent the company in all commercial and contractual matters to ensure entitlements are protected
  • Lead procurement activities from tender preparation to subcontract management and final account
  • Prepare and manage financial forecasts, cost reporting, valuations and reconciliations
  • Control and agree variations with accurate, auditable documentation
  • Maintain risk and opportunity registers, implementing mitigation plans as needed
  • Mentor and develop commercial teams, including Quantity Surveyors and Assistants
  • Deliver accurate reporting and maintain compliance across large-scale design and build contracts

Must-have Requirements
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
  • Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on large-scale construction projects, ideally data centres
  • Strong knowledge of commercial management, dispute resolution and contract law
  • Leadership, delegation and communication training and experience
  • Familiarity with risk management and safety training practices

Nice-to-have Skills
  • Chartered membership of RICS, CIOB or equivalent
  • CPD in legislation, industry trends and advanced commercial management practices
