Job Title: Site Quality Lead – Renewable Energy

Location: Site Quality Lead
Department: Engineering / Construction / Quality
Reports to: Project Manager / Head of Quality



Role Overview

The Site Quality Lead is responsible for ensuring that all construction and installation activities at renewable energy sites meet defined quality standards, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements.

You’ll oversee quality control on-site, working closely with engineering, construction, and contractor teams to ensure that work is completed correctly the first time. This role is key to delivering safe, reliable, and high-performing assets such as solar farms, wind turbines, or other renewable infrastructure.



Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement site-specific quality plans and procedures
  • Ensure all work complies with project specifications, drawings, and standards
  • Monitor construction and installation activities (civil, mechanical, electrical)
  • Conduct inspections and audits across all phases of the project
  • Review and approve quality documentation (ITPs, checklists, test reports)
  • Identify non-conformities and ensure corrective actions are taken
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers on quality matters
  • Support commissioning activities and ensure readiness for handover
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and quality reports
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, safety standards, and industry codes
  • Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement on-site


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related field)
  • 5–10 years of experience in quality assurance/control within construction or energy projects
  • Hands-on experience in renewable energy projects (solar, wind, or similar)
  • Strong understanding of QA/QC processes, standards, and documentation
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
  • Experience working on construction sites and managing contractors
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills


Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of international standards (ISO 9001, IEC, or equivalent)
  • Experience with testing and commissioning processes
  • Familiarity with inspection tools and reporting systems
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Certification in quality management or auditing (e.g., ISO Lead Auditor)


Success Metrics

  • Compliance with project quality standards and specifications
  • Minimal rework and defects during construction and commissioning
  • Timely closure of non-conformance reports (NCRs)
  • Smooth handover with complete and accurate documentation
  • Positive audit results and regulatory compliance
