Mechanical Supervisors are responsible for supervising workers in their area of expertise. They will also play a part in ensuring that the mechanical elements of a projects are completed on time and within budget.

A Mechanical Supervisor is required to have a good knowledge of their particular field, which can vary across industry sectors - as well as good communication skills and the ability to manage people effectively.

The role of a Mechanical Supervisor can be very varied depending on what industry you work in. You may be expected to carry out some tasks yourself, but overall it is more about managing others than doing the actual work yourself.

A Mechanical Supervisor will usually need qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, this would usually be either through a degree or a level 3 NVQ.
