NRL are currently recruiting for a Car TCU Engineer on behalf of one of our large clients based in Cranfield on an initial 12 month contract.

Description:

  • Development of in-vehicle telematics systems for products sold across the AMEIO region.

  • Generation and release of TCU configuration data

  • Managing Tier 1 suppliers to deliver products to Quality, Cost & Timing targets.

  • Coordination of in house and supplier TCU validation to design standards ahead of new software releases

  • Collaboration with Off Board Connected Car team, test teams (both on-board and off-board) and customer orientated engineering team to confirm connected car functionality & performance

  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to ensure technical solution supports business objective

  • Collaborate with purchasing to support sourcing and cost definition/optimisation tasks.

  • Collaborate with related engineering sections to ensure all system components are packaged and connected correctly to meet all system design and regulation requirements.

  • Status reporting to management at all levels.


Qualifications:

  • 2+ years’ experience in automotive electrical and electronic development or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience on a major development program.

  • Understanding and experience of telematics system development is a must.

  • Experience managing Tier 1 suppliers in the development of complex electronic products.

  • Understanding of both IOT and vehicle level protocols (MQTT, TCP/IP, CAN, UDS, Ethernet).

  • Experience liaising with 3rd party telematics service providers and MNO’s

  • Experience coordinating complex BOM releases.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in a cross cultural and cross functional team.

  • A pro-active approach and ability to self-manage.

  • Flexibility regarding working practice and working hours.

  • Availability to travel abroad, typically a few days to 2 weeks, but on rare occasions could be longer.

  • Competency with PC applications. MS office, Image editing etc.

  • Work within company health and safety guidelines
