Electrical Fitter
Site Based at Heysham 2 Power Station
About the role:
This is a unique Electrical Fitter role with one of our prestigious clients, where delivering safe, reliable power is at the heart of the Generation Business. Your base location will be at Heysham 2 Power Station, however our client supports the UK wide fleet, meaning travel to other locations may at times be required.
Our client carries out the maintenance of steam turbines, generators and associated plant at various Nuclear sites. Your responsibilities as an Electrical Fitter will be to support the fleet’s turbine and generator assets. The successful applicant will become a member of the Operations Department reporting to the Operations Team Leader, whilst also working closely with Engineering.
This position requires working 38 hours a week
Please note the hourly rates for this role are due to be uplifted in 2024
Remuneration: In line with NAECI Grade 5 (Blue Book)
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Able to carry out electrical testing (continuity and insulation resistance testing).
Carry out generator inspections, maintenance and modifications.
Have general fitting experience.
Be able to read drawings and complete data requirements where required.
Be able to use measuring equipment.
Completing maintenance records in a timely manner.
Be responsible for supporting the delivery of the workweek plans and outage plans.
Support the delivery of the client’s business plan.
Support the effective delivery of KPI's continuously trying to improve & learn from the previous completed task.
Report safety, environmental and plant issues in a timely manner via the correct tools and Team Leader.
Actively acknowledge errors, seeking help when needed. Assuming responsibility for your decisions and actions.
Actively participate in setting to work, pre job briefs, training and area risk assessments
Work as part of a team to drive performance improvement to industry best practice standards.
Maintain & reinforce high standards of nuclear professionalism.
Ensure that all activities are carried out with full regard to site licence requirements, statutory
regulations company & local directions, procedures & safety rules.
Profile:
Have completed an apprenticeship as an armature winder, electrical fitter or equivalent.
At least 2 years’ experience in a skilled role.
Willingness and flexibility to travel.
