This is a unique Materials Controller role with one of our prestigious clients, where delivering safe, reliable power is at the heart of our Generation Business. Your base location will be at Heysham 2 Power Station, however our client supports the UK wide fleet, as such travel to other locations may at times be required.
 
Our client company carries out the maintenance of Steam Turbines, Generators and associated plant at various EDF Sites. Your responsibilities as a Materials Controller are to support the groups Supply Chain activities, primarily, sourcing goods and services required to complete operational objectives, whilst also focusing on maintaining control over specialist tooling. The successful applicant will become a member of the Supply Chain Team reporting to the Supply Chain Team Leader.
 
Remuneration: £37,820 - £43,788 (Paid per hour between £19.64 - £22.16)
 
Tasks and Responsibilities:
As a Materials Controller you will: 
  • Source goods and services in a timely manner to ensure all operational requirements are achieved.
  • Maintaining control over specialist tooling and equipment, arranging annual service/inspection, whilst also ensuring key equipment is available for planned and emergent maintenance work.
  • Provide support to the Supply Chain and Strategic Spares Team.
  • Facilitate transfer of equipment between site and third parties.
  • Proactively manage goods receipt activities.
  • Support the delivery of the client’s business plan.
  • Support the effective delivery of KPI's continuously trying to improve & learn from the previous completed task.
  • Report safety, environmental and plant issues in a timely manner via the correct tools and Team Leader.
  • Actively participate in setting to work, pre-job briefs, training and area risk assessments.
  • Maintain & reinforce high standards of nuclear professionalism.
 
Profile:
  • Have a relevant professional qualification, MCIPS (or working towards) is desirable.
  • Experience of inventory concepts, commercial practice, and quality fundamentals, with knowledge of applicable standards.
  • You should be a confident communicator, able to liaise with key suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • You should have an attention to detail, always demonstrate personal accountability and time management.
  • Strong understanding of industrial safety principles, IOSH or NEBOSH would be beneficial, however training will be provided.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Forklift truck experience beneficial.
