NRL are currently resourcing for a major engineering client who are offering longevity on massive infrastructure projects based in Cumbria. These projects will be part of a programme of works and project partners established through a local Nuclear site and create a lasting legacy locally for Engineering and Infrastructure opportunities.
About the role:
As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our mechanical systems and equipment.
Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on mechanical systems, including but not limited to machinery, HVAC systems, pumps, compressors, and conveyors.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement effective solutions to minimise downtime and optimise equipment performance.
Develop and execute maintenance plans to ensure equipment reliability and compliance with safety regulations.
Conduct regular inspections and assessments to identify potential issues and recommend improvements for the overall mechanical infrastructure.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operators, technicians, and management, to coordinate maintenance activities and optimise productivity.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including maintenance logs, work orders, and equipment history.
Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and advancements in mechanical maintenance techniques.
What you will need:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.
Proven experience as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer or a similar role, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, and troubleshooting techniques.
Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
Hands-on experience with maintenance tools and diagnostic equipment.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance tasks.
Solid communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
