NRL’s client based in Grangemouth are looking to recruit a Senior/Piping Designer on an ongoing contract basis – Inside IR35.
 
About the role:
 
We are looking for previous experience as a Designer / Senior Designer within regulated industry sectors, preferably hydrocarbon and COMAH sites. You will have well developed strong communication skills, and you will incisively know how to deliver Team and Project objectives.
You will be expected to be familiar with engineering design and demonstrate an understanding of relevant technical standards.
 
Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Preparation of various documents for the fabrication and installation of various piping systems. These drawings / documents will also be incorporated into client Management of Change (MoC) documents.
  • Ensure designs are in accordance with current client and ASME standards.
  • Complete all tasks as directed by the Lead Designer / Project Manager and to time and budget as specified in the Cost Time Report.
  • Attendance at client meetings as required. (Design reviews, Co-ordination and Progress meetings)
  • Liaising with client representatives.
  • Main Activities (main day-to-day activities and the outputs of the role the individual is expected to deliver)
  • Modify / update P&ID’s under guidance from Process Department.
  • Produce construct and destruct P&ID’s.
  • Site survey to sketch and verify existing designs.
  • Produce construct and destruct Isometrics. Populating Bill of Materials to pipe classes as specified by client standards.
  • Produce General Arrangements and Layouts of designs.
  • Produce Pipe Support detail drawings under guidance from Structural Department.
  • Create Line List, Valve and Tie-in schedules.
What you will need? 
  • Minimum: Experience in a Piping Designer role on Oil and Gas or other regulated industry.
  • Preferred: Continuous experience in a Senior Piping Designer role on Oil and Gas or other regulated industry.
  • Preferred: HNC in Engineering Discipline
  • SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
  • Proficient in AutoCAD (2D & 3D), N
  • Knowledge of hydrocarbon / COMAH sites and permit to work systems.
