Dogger Bank Offshore Wind Farm, the world’s largest offshore windfarm and being developed in 3 phases, is currently under construction and scheduled for start power generation in 2023. The wind farm is located some 100-150 nautical miles east of South Shields, covering a total area of over 1500km2. During the operations phase, maintenance of the wind farm will be conducted from 4 Service Operations Vessels (SOVs) each equipped with a Daughter Craft (DC). The O&M Base including the warehouse for spare parts and consumables will be located at Port of Tyne, South Tyneside where construction is scheduled to finish in Q4 2022. Adjacent, will be located Equinor’s flagship UK Central Control Room and technical competence centre for engineering support.

Equinor is the manager for Dogger Bank during the operations phase. For its O&M organisation, to be based in the Port of Tyne, we are seeking to expand our team with a Plant Manager, who will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the power plant.

We are seeking a candidate with long term commitment to play a key role in ensuring continuity of knowledge from construction and operational setup into operations. The role will report directly to the VP Operations (Operations Director) for Dogger Bank.

Duties will include:

By joining our team in Renewables, you will play a part in the running of Dogger Bank and as the Plant Manager you will:

Deliver on the O&M strategy targets including: (1) always safe operations; (2) maximise production and reduce life cycle cost; (3) extend the operational lifetime of the assets

Be the line manager of the operations team and be the task manager towards corporate technical services to ensure technical integrity of the wind assets are maintained

Be responsible for contractual and interface relations towards the OFTO and other key wind farm support contracts

Ensure there are continuous improvement activities supporting the O&M Strategic targets

Deliver O&M activities and ensure they are carried out in accordance with maintenance programs and in compliance with Operation and Maintenance Agreements and regulatory requirements

Implement the Equinor Management System and safe systems of work

Ensure all wind farm permits and consents are obtained, maintained, and complied with

Actively monitor and report the performance of the wind farm

Support experience transfer and collaboration across the REN portfolio

Support implementation of business continuity plans and ensure updated Emergency response Plans are in place and regularly tested

Support and be part of an on-call rotation (operations, emergency response) for the windfarms

Significant (10+ years) operation and maintenance management experience of offshore wind farms

Demonstrable senior leadership experience

Commercial mindset to deliver value in a marginal industry

Degree or HND in technical or commercial discipline

Proactive with strategic approach to problem solving

Strong leadership, risk, and project management skills
