Leiden, Netherlands. This role is ideal for professionals with strong commercial management and cost control experience within large-scale design and construction projects. You will play a key role in delivering a landmark programme within a highly collaborative and international environment.

Client Overview Our client is a leading global organisation delivering innovative engineering and project solutions for complex industrial developments across regulated sectors.
Responsibilities- Lead commercial management activities across the full project lifecycle.
- Administer and manage construction contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.
- Monitor budgets, project forecasts and financial performance metrics.
- Oversee change management processes, managing variations and claims.
- Provide commercial guidance to senior stakeholders and project leadership.
- Support procurement activities including tendering, bid evaluation and negotiation.
- Review and authorise contractor submissions, payment applications and final accounts.
- Identify and address commercial risks and opportunities to safeguard project success.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, construction and client teams to ensure alignment.
Must-have Requirements- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management, Engineering or a similar discipline.
- Proven experience in commercial management of large-scale design and construction projects.
- Strong industry knowledge of standard forms of contract (including NEC and FIDIC).
- Expertise in cost control, contract administration and procurement.
- Strong negotiation, financial management and communication skills.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Full legal right to work in the Netherlands (EU citizen or existing eligibility).
Nice-to-have Skills- Experience within Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology or related high-tech projects.
- Background in regulated or GMP environments.
- Chartered status (MRICS or equivalent).
- Experience managing projects valued over €50m.
